New Radio Singles

Every couple weeks I'll try to keep you all up to date with what's new at radio.  Below are my top 10 songs that have been on radio this summer. Happy downloading!

1. Casting Crowns- Jesus, Friend of Sinners 

(Best song to come from CC in YEARS!  Compare to "Slow Fade" and "Praise You in This Storm")

2. David Crowder Band- After All (Holy) 

(I find it funny the moment DBC breaks is when I begin to really like them.  This song is an EPIC worship track that deserves much more radio play than it is getting)

3. Tenth Avenue North- Losing 

(I thought this video of the song was cool.  I can totally picture myself textingsome of these words to someone. This song reminds me that I need to be more like Jesus.)

4. Mandisa- Good Morning featuring TobyMac 

(Pure summer fun! Azaliah has a great cover of this!)

5. NEEDTOBREATHE- Keep Your Eyes Open 

(I wanna see these guys in concert again just so I can sing this song at the top of my lungs!)

6. Jimmy Needham & Lecrae- I Will Find You 

(An unexpected pairing that really works!)

7. Christy Nockels- Ever Lifting 

(The perfect blend of country, pop, and worship.  If Carrie Underwood or Martina McBride sang CCM, it'd sound something like this)

8. Group 1 Crew & Chris August- He Said 

(I've been singing this song all summer and I'm sure I'm going to be singing it all fall too!)

9. Jason Gray- Good to Be Alive 

(As indicated in my review of this album, Jason Gray sings about my life!  This song is no exception!)

10. Stephanie Smith- Letting Go 

(This song has been sort of a theme for me this summer lyrically.  The music is a nice slice of dance pop fun)

DC Talk When it was announced that Kevin Max was joining the newly reformed Audio Adrenaline, small glimmers of hope sprang into the hearts of 90's CCM fans everywhere as they imagined the mother of all tour possibilities: Toby Mac & Diverse City with Michael Tait & Newsboys and Kevin Max & Audio Adrenaline... and since they're all together why not throw in a DC Talk reunion!!! Seriously someone needs to make this happen! NOW! Indie Artist Rundown

Over the years, many of our favorite artists have left their major labels and chosen to release their music independently. Some were dropped by their labels due to low sales, artistic disagreements, or age. Still others leave their major labels for artistic freedom, financial independence or ministry purposes. Some fade away and cease to release new music but others thrive in the indie scene. Now more than ever before, many former heavy hitters of major labels are taking the indie route and finding great success and wider ministry opportunities. Below I have listed 20 of my favorite artists that used to be signed to a major label who have chosen the independent route and are the better for it. 1. Top 14 Albums of 2014

2014 was a great year in Christian music! Although radio continues to play the same 20 songs for 2 years, there's been plenty of good music circulating your local Bible book store. So get out there (or go to iTunes) and buy these albums ASAP! 1. NEEDTOBREATHE- Rivers in the Wasteland NEEDTOBREATHE is always in the top 3 on my year end charts, when they release an album, and usually if I place them lower than #1 I regret it later. NTB albums usually are slow burners. But Wasteland was an instant classic to me. Sure, there are songs that will have to grow on me (Carolina, State I'm In) but this is clearly some of NTB's best work. Their refocus on Christ and spiritual themes throughout added to their love of all things grandiose and acoustic bring the perfect balance of passion and professionalism to the table. Could this be NTB's best work? I'm not sure I'm ready to place this above The Outsiders quite yet but its close! iPod Picks: Wasteland, Brothe
