Casting Crowns Albums Ranked:  

 1. The Altar and the Door- Song for song this is the best collection of CC songs on one album. The set was a bit brief (only 10 tracks including two covers) but every song was good.

2. Casting Crowns- The high-points on this project include the best singles of CC's career but the back half of the album just felt a little under-baked (Glory/Life of Praise in particular) and this same issues remained with CC for several albums running.

3. Come to the Well- The most well rounded record of CC's career that was well focused on the theme of the project and full of juicy lyrics to ponder for days.

4. The Very Next Thing- Another solid record from CC that fits into the modern CCM landscape but kept the core of who they were as ministers and artists.

5. Lifesong- A worthy sophomore album with a few truly excellent songs (Praise You In This Storm, In Me, Does Anybody Hear Her) but, despite several great musical moments felt fairly muted musically overall.

6. Thrive- Thrive is a great album but song for song just doesn't hold up as well as the above records, although it was great to hear them incorporating Americana instrumentation onto several tracks.

7. Until the Whole World Hears- The only album in CC's discography that felt forced and uninspired. Some of the songs were leftovers from earlier albums while others were thematic and musical re-treads from past projects. Also, three re-imagined hymns on one project, while all well-done, seemed to indicate a lack of inspiration for new material. This album was probably the most important of CC's career, coming off of the massive success of "East to West" and it was poised to be the most successful album of their career (it was still very successful) but it just wasn't all it could have been. However, "To Know You" is one of CC's best song to never be sent to radio.

DC Talk When it was announced that Kevin Max was joining the newly reformed Audio Adrenaline, small glimmers of hope sprang into the hearts of 90's CCM fans everywhere as they imagined the mother of all tour possibilities: Toby Mac & Diverse City with Michael Tait & Newsboys and Kevin Max & Audio Adrenaline... and since they're all together why not throw in a DC Talk reunion!!! Over the years, many of our favorite artists have left their major labels and chosen to release their music independently. Some were dropped by their labels due to low sales, artistic disagreements, or age. Still others leave their major labels for artistic freedom, financial independence or ministry purposes. Top 14 Albums of 2014

2014 was a great year in Christian music! Although radio continues to play the same 20 songs for 2 years, there's been plenty of good music circulating your local Bible book store. So get out there (or go to iTunes) and buy these albums ASAP! 1. NEEDTOBREATHE- Rivers in the Wasteland NEEDTOBREATHE is always in the top 3 on my year end charts, when they release an album, and usually if I place them lower than #1 I regret it later. NTB albums usually are slow burners. But Wasteland was an instant classic to me. Sure, there are songs that will have to grow on me (Carolina, State I'm In) but this is clearly some of NTB's best work. Their refocus on Christ and spiritual themes throughout added to their love of all things grandiose and acoustic bring the perfect balance of passion and professionalism to the table. Could this be NTB's best work? I'm not sure I'm ready to place this above The Outsiders quite yet but its close! iPod Picks: Wasteland, Brothe
